From June 18th to 20th, the second edition of the Maritime Engineering Meeting took place at BUILDERS Engineering School. This event provided a unique opportunity for the AquaCOM project to engage with various maritime sector stakeholders, including experts, scientists, and public and private project managers.
Over the course of these three days, a wide array of topics was discussed, such as coastal and maritime territory development projects, maritime and coastal energy transition, and marine renewable energies. One highlight of the event was the presentation on the potential of aquathermal energy in France with the WaterWarmth (Interreg North Sea) and AquaCOM (Interreg NWE) projects, delivered by respectively Jade Santier and Lucie FAUVIN.
Their presentation followed an article submitted for the conference titled "How to Decarbonize Heating and Cooling? The Case of (Marine) Aquathermal Energy as a Solution for Sustainable Heating and Cooling in the Built Environment." This article was authored by Provincie Fryslân, EXTRAQT, BUILDERS Engineering School, and Société Publique Locale Bois Energie Renouvelable.
Conducting this session, facilitated by the synergy between the two projects, was an incredibly enriching and valuable experience for the future of these initiatives.
Thanks to their presence, the AquaCOM consortium was able to be represented, giving it greater visibility.
